steak. says it all.
everyday the menu del dia is carne. two fine steaks run us about US$2.50 total, which is typical down here. throw in a nice US$2 bottle of malbec and you've got one cheap date.
we've seen most of the central part of the city thus far, and considering it's one of south america's larger metropolises at about 13 million people, catching a glimpse of its entirety could prove difficult.
on language:
if you think you know spanish, try flying down here where y's sound like j's and ll's sound like j's. "jo" tengo anyone? i am like a fish out of water in this environment.
leigh asked for chapstick the other day by using his ingenious hand motions and was provided with a suspiciously lipstick like tube. he also managed to leave his phone in the taxi one night and was asked to stand outside a mall entrance for 1 hr so the guy could drop off the phone. luckily the guy remembered us in the taxi because i tried to tell him the address (505) by saying cinco ciento rather than quienientos.
the city is "dangerous":
only if you've never been in a big city.
but really it's just a joke on our director.
oh, and they have desparate housewives down here, only argentinian style.
